Swimming Lessons

All the other kids at least got their hair wet doing "sponge bobs". Reagan just stood there looking at them like they were crazy.
While the other kids were practicing their arms and kicking, Reagan was spitting water at me. She provides the comic relief for the class.
This part she liked. Finally!! She liked it so much she asked to do it about 12 times. She has never participated like that before, I think the teacher (LeTana) almost had a heart attack right there when Reagan asked to do it again. She stood on the steps and swam to LeTana (under water) and then turned around and swam back. I was so proud. She did really well and she listened and followed directions, which as you know doesn't happen all that often.

Coen's Car Seat

Every time we go outside, Reagan drags Coen's old car seat out the the yard and tries to get him to sit in it.  If he doesn't, and I won't put him in it for her, she gives up and sits in it herself.  Today she finally got him to sit in it and let her put a blanket on him just about the time we were ready to go in, so she dragged it inside and made him get in it again so they could watch Mermaid together.  He seems quite content doesn't he?  She is really proud of herself.

Big Girl Bed

Two nights ago, Reagan finally got out of the crib by herself.  I'm not sure she knows she could do it again, but we figured it was time to give her the big girl bed, also Coen really is getting too big for the play pen.  Hopefully having a 'big girl bed' will help her do other things that big girls do.  We've only had quiet time in it so far, but she did really well.  Hopefully Coen will do as well in the crib.  Poppy made this bed for me when I was little and Reagan thinks "it's a wonderful bed."  She and Coen played in it for a good half hour.

Washing the car

Reagan after we finished planting her pumpkin patch.
Good ol' Coen sweeping up our messes.
Reagan running away from the hose.
We thought the kids would love washing the car, since they love the hose, but today they didn't!  They stayed together huddled around the bucket.  Reagan did help wash the wheels & yes, Coen is eating the rag with soap & dirty car water on it.
Stupid Flanders!

Mothers Day

I must be the luckiest mama alive!  Reagan brought me breakfast in bed & then ate all my strawberries for me.  Sweet girl!  Unfortunately we had to speak in church today.  But then we had nap time & a wonderful dinner with dessert.  I got a foot rub from Nick & Reagan as I talked to Nanie on the phone.  But the best part was these sweet babies on my lap!  Oh yeah, and Nick fixing up the kids bathroom for me.  It looks fantastic!  We also wanted to give a shout out to our mothers and grandmothers whom we love so very dearly.  Thanks for being the best, most lovely people we know!!!

Quiet Time

Quiet time is going well, today only 2 books were completely ripped apart to "feed the birds."  I thought to take a picture about half way through the clean up- around the time I found Reagan in the bathroom with desitin all over the tub, door, cabinets, hair & clothes.  Yesterday it was the soft soap.  Never a dull moment- well a few- followed by my discovery of a disaster.

Garden 2008

Today we started our garden. Reagan & Coen were great little helpers. Reagan shook the plant food and Coen covered everyone in dirt. I think this last picture is my new favorite. We planted marigolds along the borders to ward off pests. We'll get our vegetables in soon, but first we're planning on building a scarecrow.
