Dane & Jordan

So, their trip started out rough!  I forgot what time they got in, so we were late picking them up  & then Reagan threw up all over herself on the way home.  But they finally got here and they even talked to us after all that!  What troopers!
We had lunch downtown & then went on a cruise around the lake.  Well, not me, I get a little motion sick.  I think everyone had fun, although there were some sunburns.
Coen unfortunately got a little too much sun & we think he suffered from some heat exhaustion,  so we couldn't do the things we had planned on Saturday.  Instead we took them to see their very first movie at the theater, UP.  It was a great story & Reagan sat all the way through it.  Coen managed to make it until about the last 20 minutes or so because we kept him well supplied with popcorn.  Unfortunately we didn't bring our camera, but that night we took them bowling.  It was great!  The kids had so much fun & everyone enjoyed beating me (but that is only because Dane named me gutter ball or something like that)!  Jordan made us a delicious dinner that night.  They had to leave Monday and there was crying all the way home from the airplaneport, but it was a great weekend.  Thanks guys!  We love you & can't wait for the wedding!  Come back anytime!

Coen's Archive #2

Coen hates to take his jacket off when we go places. So for the whole church session or play date he keeps his jacket and sometimes hat on. Everyone is sweating to death, but Coen will not be persuaded to take off his jacket. I think it makes him feel like he will eventually get to go home if his jacket is on.

This morning he started calling for me and when I didn't get there fast enough he started calling for Ike.

His favorite words are play, noise and orange.

We recently got a roomba and I caught Coen on his hands and knees following it around and barking.

Whenever I'm sitting on the floor, Coen comes up behind me and lays his head on my shoulder and gives me a hug. I love it!!!

For the past three days Coen has been meowing almost constantly. I have no idea why.

Coen likes to put an H right after the s in the work sit.

If we say "go find Clifford T-Bone" he drops to all fours, starts barking and takes off.

He can say pillow and blanket very clearly, but when he wants them both he says blillow.

Coen is now on the Sauce. He takes my hand, drags me to the fridge, opens it up & pointing yells sauce, sauce! I've been making applesauce & he is loving it. He & Reagan ate an entire jar yesterday. I thought 16 jars would last the year, but now I'm thinking I've got 3 weeks if I'm lucky.

Reagan's Archive

She called Nick into her room when she was supposed to be sleeping to tell him "I usually like rabbits."

Coen & the elephants are impeccable!

Today while driving in the car Reagan told me she knew who could take the stain out of her shirt. When I asked who that was, she said "the police man. He knows how to get everything out of your clothes." So next time you get pulled over ask the nice police officer how to get tomato stains out of your clothes and pass that information along to me please.

Her big insults are "You are a meano" and "naked head"

"No I amn't!"

Reagan really hates shots (weird) and just about every time we get into the car she says something about hating doctors that give her shots and she's not going to get any more. I tell her that she has to have some more, but that when she's 16 she can decide if she wants them or not. I take her to the dermatologist with me so she can see me get shots and I told her that when I have the baby I'm going to ASK the doctor for a shot. She replied "When I'm 16 and have my baby I am not going to get a shot." Not quite the point I was trying to make!

When I ask her not to do something, she will ask me to turn around or close my eyes or go into the kitchen.

"When I was your age..."

"If you close my door I am going to be so angry at you."

Lately every time I do anything she likes she kisses my hand and tells me I'm the sweetest.

She likes to name all her orange slices before she eats them. Oma, Papa, Coen, Nanie, Mama... Then chomp!

Reagan has finally gotten brave enough to say prayers by herself at night. Every night she says the same thing. "Thank you for water and milk, for our baby and bottles. Thank you for soft pillows and blankets. Amen"

Reagan- Look at those beautiful lights!
Me- What lights?
Reagan- Those beautiful lights in the place that we live.
Me- Where do we live?
Reagan- In Reagan Land

Nick- Reagan, do you know who Santa Clause is?
Reagan- Yes.
Nick- Do you know what Santa Clause does?
Reagan- She brings us presents.

She told me the other day that her favorite places to eat were Wendys and Walmart dot com.

Reagan is getting potty trained at night, so I leave the door open just a little so she can see when she needs to get up. She wants the door wide open, which wakes up Coen, so we have a little power struggle going on. Last night I checked on her and she had opened it up wide, so I quietly closed it a little and then waited to see if she would notice. It took her a minute and then she said "that mean old mama."

Ikie Baby

I know, I've been a terrible mother, not posting any pictures of my baby.  I've just been busy & he's had a terrible rash- that I made worse by using baby oil on it.  Once that was mostly gone he got cradle cap, so he's just getting photographable.  So,
 HERE HE IS

I think he looks like Dallin here

I love this picture!

Coen is being a shark...

Locks of Love

Reagan's primary teacher has cancer and a few times this winter I wouldn't let her go to primary because she had a cough and I didn't want him to get sick.  So we had long discussions about how he was sick and she asked if little kids got sick too.   I told her about locks of love and she thought it was a "Great Idea"- sometimes, other times she wanted long red hair like Ariel.  I didn't want to push her, so I didn't do anything.  Saturday I just couldn't stand it anymore- I desperately needed a hair cut- so I called a friend of mine, whose daughter get graduated from cosmetology school and found out where she was working so I could make an appointment.  I was going durning nap time.  Reagan wanted to go, but I told her it would be boring.  Well, she saw me sneaking out and came running out of the house screaming that she wanted to go to.  So I told her she could come if she got her hair cut.  She said okay, so off we went.
Here's the new Reagan.  She did pretty good!  She knew the girl, so that helped, and I bribed her a little to get her on the chair.  After that it was easy.  At the end though, she started asking where her braids were and when we got to the car, she told me she was never getting her hair cut again.  Everyone made a really big deal about it at church though, so that helped.  Now she asks everyone if they love her short hair and she wishes Jordan could see it.  Hopefully now we can fight less about doing her hair!
I took pictures of her actually getting the hair cut, but they are on my phone and not very good quality, so you  just get the before and afters.  She was kind of upset though that she she didn't get to actually give a little kid her hair.  I think she thought they would just be waiting there for her.  I am really proud of her for being able to sacrifice something she loves for someone in need.  I love you Reagan!

Reagan's 4th Birthday

I know, I'm a terrible mother.  She's been 4 for two weeks and I'm barley getting around to this, but I wanted everyone to see her pictures and let her know how much I love her.
She pretty much reacted like this to all her presents.  She got waaaay too many for a 4 year old, but it was fun.  She got a tea party set, books, clothes, princess shoes & shirt, swim suits, barbies, etc.
I decided to be brave and have a friends birthday party.  Her friends Morgan, Evan, Caysen, Kate, Rachel, & Allison came plus a few younger siblings.  They played pin the tail on the donkey (which they totally didn't get), made their own pizzas and then frosted their own cupcakes.  It was fun, I thought.
I love this picture!  Evan gave her a huge princess pillow which she loves using to make forts on her bed.
Coen helping her blow out her candles.  I made a fondant cake for the first time.  It didn't turn out all that great, but it was really fun, so I'll keep trying.  We love you Reagan!  You are the sweetest little girl & the best big sister two boys could ask for!

Easter

Yes, I know these are terrible Easter pictures and they are out of order, but it's really late and if I don't get this done now I never will, so here goes.  I told Reagan I wanted to take a picture of the three of them on the new couch (the one we got because Nick lost his wedding ring) and she went running to her room to put on this outfit just for pictures, so I had to post one.
Coen after the chocolate bunny.
What a bunch of dorks we are!  Our neighbor brought over baskets for the kids- and you know how Coen loves suckers!  The Easter Bunny brought Coen big boy Cars underwear that glows in the dark!  Mainly I am sure it was to make his mama feel like maybe one day he would be potty trained.  I would really really like to be changing only one persons diapers a day!  Anyway this is how he got them on and he was so proud!  Reagan is trying to show off her princess panties and being almost successful.
His new car and chocolate bunny.  After this picture he stole my camera to take pictures of his new car and his car underwear.  He actually took a really cool picture, but I didn't post it because then you'll only want to see his pictures and I'm too selfish to allow that and most of the time they are just the ceiling or extreme close ups of his nose.  Man, can you tell I'm really tired?  I'll probably have to delete this whole post tomorrow.
Reagan making sure her chocolate bunny is authentic.  I did have pictures of their baskets and Reagan's Easter dress, but these ones were funnier to me, so this is what you get.

I hope you all had a wonderful Easter and were able to focus on the true reason for our celebrations.  We have a little 12 days of Easter thing that we do.  This year Reagan seemed to understand much better what we were talking about and she wanted to open all the eggs over and over to hear about what happened to Jesus.  It was sweet to see her get really upset that anyone would hurt Him and then really happy that He was okay later.  We had stake conference yesterday and we got there early (I know we were kinda shocked too).  But I took the kids on a walk to find all the pictures of Jesus and to tell the story of the pictures.  I was amazed at how well she could tell me the stories and how much she understood in her small way.  She can be such a sweet little thing sometimes.  I love to hear her telling the stories to Coen while they play and then later to hear her singing 'I have a family here on earth' at the top of her lungs while she's swinging.
